MillO Dance Projects respectfully acknowledges that the land we are standing on today, Tkaronto, is the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. MillO Dance Projects also acknowledges that Tkaronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. As immigrants of this land, we are driven to improve our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures. We aim to improve relationships between nations and recognize the harms and mistakes of the past and to consider how we can each, in our own way, try to move forward in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
