Experience

Park in Motion is a family-friendly outdoor dance performance series by MillO Dance Projects. Through live performances and interactive activities, Park in Motion celebrates diversity and fosters a vibrant, inclusive space where community members can come together and connect.

Seating is general admission and takes place outdoors. You are welcome to choose a spot that feels most comfortable to you. A limited number of chairs and blankets will be available on site for your use. You can also bring your own blanket, lawn chair, or simply sit, stand, or move around as you wish.

This is a relaxed performance, meaning audiences are encouraged to experience the event in whatever way feels right. You’re welcome to move, make noise, come and go, or take breaks as needed. There will be no sudden loud sounds or strobe lighting.

The event features two 15-minute contemporary dance works:

  • Colours, choreographed and performed by MillO Dance Projects
  • To My Past…, choreographed and performed by Nickeshia Garrick

Themes of home, connection, and self-discovery are explored through contemporary dance, improvisation, and voice.

To close the event, there will be a 10-minute interactive segment offering guided vocalization and gentle movement practice — designed to be welcoming and accessible for people of all ages and abilities.

Event Duration

Approximately 45 min

The Community Centre building is shown in dark grey, running horizontally through the center of the map. The Main Entrance is located on the left (west) side of the building, and the Back Entrance is on the right (southeast corner). Two orange blocks represent nearby parking areas on either side of the Community Centre. A green block near the right edge represents a basketball court.
